Stem Cell Protocols

Enabling investigators to establish stem cell lines in their laboratories is the primary goal of the WISC Bank. To this aim, WiCell provides protocols for every available stem cell line. The protocols are also shipped with every vial of material. Many cell lines are available in multiple culture platforms (i.e., combinations of medium and matrix). Culture platforms and associated protocols for each cell line are accessible when viewing cell line specific information.

WiCell recommends that investigators review protocols and contact our technical services department with any questions prior to thawing the material.

The majority of stem cell lines distributed from the WISC Bank are available in one of the following stem cell culture platforms. These protocols may differ slightly from the protocols taught in the Morgridge Institute’s training courses due to the larger lots of cells distributed by the WISC Bank.
