For Students and Educators

We love to visit classrooms!

The WiCell Outreach team offers scientific presentations to middle- and high-school students that include hands-on activities that enable students to get a glimpse of how scientists work with embryonic stem cells in the lab. Special emphasis is given to topics that explain the future use of stem cells in disease treatments and regenerative medicine.

Collaborative Efforts with Madison Metropolitan School District

We are in the process of providing input and guidance to the MMSD on the integration of human embryonic stem cells in the 6th grade curriculum called Diversity of Life. The curriculum uses a guided inquiry approach and discusses the basics, such as:

1. Common ancestry and diversity in life

2. The survival needs of a living organism

3. Dependency upon the environment
