WISC Bank Protocols

The protocols in this section are the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) used for the production and testing of pluripotent stem cell lines distributed by the WISC Bank at the WiCell Research Institute. While the WISC Bank uses primarily feeder-independent methods to culture and bank stem cells, MEF-based cell culture protocols are inlcuded for reference. All of these protocols can be used with both hES and iPS cells, however additional care is required to culture iPS cells in an undifferentiated state. (Please note that iPS cells require 100ng/ml of bFGF regardless of the culture platform).
