Erik McIntire, Cytogenetics Lead Technologist

As Cytogenetics Lead Technologist, Erik focuses on managing cytogenetic case workflow, training technologists, and reviewing human and murine G-banded karyotype analyses. In addition, he performs fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) testing, microarray analysis, and spearheads collaborations with other research groups on stem cell genomics.  Erik also participates in the International Stem Cell Initiative (ISCI) to help understand the causes and functional consequences of genomic changes in stem cells. He graduated from Winona State University with a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology, and then trained at Mayo Clinic to receive professional certification in Cytogenetic Technology by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.  Erik likes working at WiCell because of its great people and values, and WiCell’s personable and welcoming company culture.
