Let our experienced team manage the long-term storage of your temperature-sensitive materials and free up your time, attention, and space so you can focus on your research. You can have confidence that the materials you entrust to us will remain safe and secure, until you need access to them again. We treat your critical materials as if they were our own, protecting your research from potential disaster associated with power outages, equipment failures, and other catastrophic events.
WiCell utilizes Rees Scientific's continuous monitoring system, a network-based, licensed, software program that provides real time monitoring data that is easily accessible from any location while still maintaining the security of the WiCell firewall. Tracking data can be queried and reported. Comprehensive preventive maintenance on the monitoring system and LN₂ tanks is performed regularly, and includes evaluating alarm occurrence to identify trends, evaluating the temperature alarm ranges and alarm interval times for each piece of equipment, testing the alarm notifications, and verifying backup procedures. Back-up of monitoring data occurs nightly. In addition our back- up power systems immediately activate in the event of a power failure to maintain power to our LN₂ tanks as well as monitoring functions and our emergency response team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week year round to respond to any emergencies immediately.

Storage is available by the box (standard 25 vial or 100 vial cryo boxes) in our auto-filled CryoGuard™ CGSP-2 Liquid Nitrogen tanks.  WiCell's LN₂ storage is intended for research grade and GLP materials only.  All materials are maintained in vapor phase.  In vapor phase operation, LN₂ is stored out of the inventory storage area helping to eliminate cross contamination issues.  Boxes are exclusive to the client, with multiple clients per tank.  Multiple species may be contained in a single tank.

Upon receipt, each vial of client material is entered into WiCell’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), tracking each vial to the specific box location, rack and tank. Storage rooms are climate controlled with appropriate circulation and ventilation to maintain temperatures with all equipment functioning properly.
