HyperGEN Study Collection

The HyperGEN (Hypertension Genetic Epidemiology Network) is one of four networks sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to map and identify genetic determinants of hypertension. The overall focus of this study is to investigate possible interactions between genetic and non-genetic factors in defined populations. The HyperGEN: Genetics of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy Study represents one of the largest family studies of echocardiography in the context of hypertension in two different racial groups.
