As a Cytogenetics Specialist with WiCell Kate works offsite from her home in Washington state performing chromosome analysis of stem cell cultures.  After working as a research tech in an immunology lab, she trained in cytogenetics at Vivigen in Santa Fe in 1988, then worked in both wet lab & analysis on prenatal, constitutional, POC, and cancer samples at labs in Texas, New York, Colorado, California, and Washington, including as supervisor of the cytogenetics lab at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles; She has been at WiCell since 2015. Kate holds her B.S. in Biology from University of New Mexico/ASCP-Cytogenetics. 

During her off time Kate loves to explore trails near and far on foot, bike, and skis, learning about local natural history along the way.
