Michelle Misterly, Cytogenetics Specialist


As a part of WiCell's remote team, Michelle works from her home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan performing chromosomal analysis. Her previous experience includes 5 years as a Medical Technologist in a hospital laboratory.

Michelle graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor degree in Biology, an associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, and a second bachelor's in Diagnostic Genetics. Following this she obtained an initial certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and completed the Cytogenetic Technology program at the Mayo Clinic. Michelle is currently an ASCP certified Cytogenetics Technologist.

In her spare time Michelle works as a volunteer firefighter, which she has done so for over 13 years.
